I was asked by the AWOL band if I could deposit for them for a 60s Birthday party just outside Berkhamsted on Sat June 1st.
I was given the set list 2 weeks before and loved the list as soon as I got it.
On the day, I turned up to the house and we were playing in a marquee. The party was for the dad to the actress who played Cilla Black in the musical Cilla.
I had met her a few times as my good mate Alan Howell, was also in the show.
We were booked to play 9pm-10pm, then 10.20 to 11.20pm. Due to several requests and the crowd refusing to let us stop, we all played till 11.45pm
It was a really great night and I may even play a few more AWOL gigs in the future.
Because of this gig set list and a few other gigs I have done recently, I have decided to record a few songs and I will upload the videos soon
